As a Christian businesswoman, do you believe you have certain privileges, compared to people who don’t know God?
If you consider yourself to be a believer, you should! Because the Bible is full of promises that clearly state how God:
• Wants to surround us with His favor, as with a shield. (Psalm 5:12)
• How He delights in our prosperity. (Psalms 25:13, Psalms 35:27)
• Gives us the power to create wealth. (Deuteronomy 8:18)
• Leads us to prosper. (Isaiah 48:17)
• Is our unfailing Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. (Genesis 22:14)
• Made us the head, and not the tail. (Deuteronomy 28:13)
Even the very first time a person was ever recorded to be filled with the Spirit of God, it was an artisan who was given “wisdom and understanding, in knowledge and all manner of workmanship…”, not a priest or a prophet! (Exodus 35:31)
So, here are my next questions:
If you are believing this, is it working for you?
Would you like to have these promises manifest much more in your life and in your business?
That is why I have studied this subject a lot in the Bible. Because I truly believe that us Christians should not walk in life—and that includes our business—as mere gentiles do. We should be able to access the supernatural power of God in a very natural and confident manner, like a beloved daughter who knows that her daddy will back her up in all of her endeavors.
But how does it work? How exactly does faith for your business look like?
I do not claim to be a Bible Scholar, but this is what I have found in the Scriptures:
In the New Testament, there are no verses that tell us to believe for things. The apostle Paul, who wrote two thirds of the New Testament, talks about believing the Gospel. As a matter of fact, that is all he ever taught about and preached about:
“The good news of the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ and everything it accomplished for all men as a free gift from God, because of his goodness, grace mercy and love”.
Jesus already made you deserving of God’s promises, it’s really as simple as that. Independent of what you do or don’t do, you are accepted and beloved by God,—and you qualify for every promise he has ever made in his Word.
In the Bible it is called righteousness, or right standing with God. It sounds very simple, but can get pretty complicated if you keep on focusing on yourself and all of your faults, instead of just doing what Jesus commanded us to do, in Matthew 6:33:
“Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”
Beloved Christian businesswoman, faith is not something you just seem to never have enough of. The moment you believe you are righteous you access the life of faith!
Hudson Taylor, a famous missionary who went to China, said: “What is necessary is not that we have great faith, but rather that we have simple trust in God’s great faithfulness”.
Jesus said we could move mountains with a faith that’s as big as a mustard seed. When you know that you know that you are unconditionally loved and accepted by God, you can rest in Him and bask in His love for you.
What’s exciting is that you will stop striving and worrying about your business as you step more and more into this awareness of being loved and accepted by God Himself.
That does not mean you should stop working, but working will start being effortless and joyful, without anxiety and stress. You won’t have to figure out everything on your own anymore.
God will show you everything you need to know so you can walk in a life of victory.
Because He loves you!
